There are 123 million homes in the US, and many of these homes waste a lot of energy. Heating and cooling systems run excessively because they are not programmed, electronics drain standby power, and lights are left on when the house is empty. “Phantom” power drain from standby electronics wastes 10-15% of home energy consumption, by Department of Energy estimates. This adds up to a lot of wasted energy, and also a big opportunity to help people save energy and money. Greg Hood co-founded Greenswitch to stop the waste and save people money.
